The Nightingale lab made their annual pilgrimage up to the DC area to attend the Ultrasonic Imaging and Tissue Characterization Symposium, this year hosted in Silver Spring, MD.
Dr. Nightingale kicked off the conference by chairing the first session! Research associate Kaden Bock gave an oral presentation entitled "Optimizing multi-modality anisotropic elasticity imaging phantoms to more closely match tissue properties of interest," in which he expanded on his work in fabricating lattice phantoms to mimic anisotropic tissues like skeletal muscle. Graduate student Shruthi Srinivasan also presented a talk entitled "Volumetric analysis of 3D-rotational shear wave elasticity imaging in in vivo skeletal muscle," in which she showcased some visualizations and results from the lab's most recent in vivo data collection, in both healthy volunteers and neuromuscular patients.
When they weren't presenting, Kaden and Shruthi were hanging out with ultrasounders and experiencing great food in the Silver Spring/DC area. Looking forward to next year!
