Hello dear Duke Ultrasound fans,

We have many updates for you this month! Please read below for our May newsletter:

Our group was represented at the ULTRASONC conference on May 20th, held at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill:

Post-doc Derek Chan presented a talk entitled "3-D Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse (ARFI) Imaging for Targeted Biopsy of Prostate Cancer: Demonstration of Clinical Feasibility and Utility." Graduate student Wren Wightman presented a poster, entitled "Multidimensional SWEI algorithms in rotationally sampled media: Assessing phase velocity reconstruction in transversely isotropic media," and student Shruthi Srinivasan's poster was entitled "3D Rotational Shear Wave Elasticity Imaging (3D-RSWEI) in Anisotropic Lattice Phantoms." Both Wren and Shruthi received Honorable Mentions for their poster presentations!

Our group says good-bye to Andrew Taylor, who assisted with some industry collaboration projects and integrating our robot system with existing Siemens Sequoia scanners in the lab. We are so grateful for his hard work! He will be moving on to a Radiology residency in the Seattle, Washington area. Congratulations Andrew!

Finally, students Wren Wightman and Shruthi Srinivasan traveled to Washington, DC at the end of May to attend the Ultrasonic Imaging and Tissue Characterization (UITC) Symposium. Wren presented a talk entitled "High-resolution estimation of shear wave speed and trajectory in arbitrarily sampled wavefields" and Shruthi presented a talk entitled "3D Rotational Shear Wave Elasticity Imaging (3D-RSWEI) in Multimodality Anisotropic Phantoms." The conference fostered productive scientific discussion and further insight into the field!

That's all for our busy May, thank you for reading!
