Application of DNNs to ultrasound for prostate cancer screening paper published in UMB!

Former lab member Derek Chan Ph.D. and co-authors published their work entitled "Multiparametric Ultrasound Imaging of Prostate Cancer Using Deep Neural Networks," in the Journal of Ultrasound Medicine and Biology. They found in their analysis that integration of multiple metrics (such as stiffness using ARFI/SWEI and B-mode echogenicity) improved contrast-to-noise ratio of lesions or masses in the prostate, as opposed to analysis that incorporated just 1-2 parameters - seen in below figure.
